Tracking, analyzing, and accessing essential data for a community can be a difficult, tedious task for administrators. By implementing Ruekert & Mielke’s (R/M) GIS systems, questions regarding cost to manage equipment, inventory, personnel, and assets themselves can easily be answered.
R/M is poised to assist our clients in making an Asset and Operations Management Software selection. This process includes a needs assessment and a tiered criteria-based selection process to determine the best solution for the client. Asset Management Solutions are designed to track work information of our clients’ staff activities that range from the most basic to the very complex. We have worked with numerous communities to provide successful assessments and recommendations.
The Villages of Huntley and Allouez both have invested in the benefits of asset management using different tools and assets. These are great examples of how each municipality has different needs and how R/M can customize a solution that is best for each client.
Village of Huntley
R/M assists the Village of Huntley with asset management. One of the many applications used by the Village of Huntley is a tree inventory. With the help of Wachtel, the Village evaluated the inventory of trees to help develop a strong cost assessment for maintenance to improve tree health and avoid possible liability incidents. Species, height, location, and maintenance requirements are accounted for in the dashboard. This helped the village identify trends such as cost, health, pruning and treatments.
Village of Allouez
Our GIS experts worked with the Village of Allouez to implement AssetAlly software – an ESRI-based GIS platform with infrastructure tools for municipalities – to facilitate a basic asset-tracking solution. By surveying the Village’s entire water, sewer, and storm system, we can populate the Village’s system with as-built drawings attached to their assets in GIS. R/M has worked with the Village to develop a sustainable asset management program that has become an integral part of their operations, planning, and budgeting process.
R/M Can Help!
Proper asset management has the ability to ensure you are ready for every situation your community brings your way. R/M can assist in planning, developing, and implementing a solution for managing the assets in your community and assist in capital planning for future needs.
