On June 17th, Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. (R/M), a local civil engineering firm, presented the Village of Slinger with the Investment in Infrastructure Achievement Award, a distinction given to communities that put forth exceptional effort to better the lives of their residents through improvements in infrastructure.
In partnership with R/M, the Village of Slinger has made impressive advancements to the community’s infrastructure over the years, including street improvements, storm water upgrades, and new residential subdivision developments.
Communities that receive the Investment in Infrastructure Achievement Award are gifted $1,000 to donate to a local non-profit of their choice. The Village of Slinger opted to give their donation to the Slinger Community Food Pantry, a non-profit serving residents in need.
“This donation means so much to us,” said Peg Lidington, Coordinator at the Slinger Community Food Pantry. “I’ve been with the food pantry since 1983, and the Village has always been a tremendous supporter of our establishment. A donation like this will go a long way in helping our clients.”
