On November 9th, 2020 Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. (R/M) presented the City of Kenosha with our annual Investment in Infrastructure Achievement Award, a distinction given to communities that put forth exceptional effort to better the lives of their residents through improvements in infrastructure.
Located along the shores of Lake Michigan, the City of Kenosha is home to miles of beaches and lakefront parks, unique cultural amenities, and growing commerce. In partnership with R/M, the City has made impressive advancements to its public infrastructure over the years, including large-scale storm water improvements, wastewater facility upgrades, street improvements, and more.
GIVING BACK
The Investment in Infrastructure Achievement Award includes a $1000 monetary donation to a non-profit organization of the City’s choosing. The City of Kenosha selected the Kenosha YMCA Teen Achievers Program as the donation recipient.
“Our Achievers program has had measured success in math, literacy, and social-emotional learning in two local elementary schools. We are excited to expand this program to middle school. We are so pleased that the City of Kenosha and Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. have recognized the need to continue to help create our next leaders and changemakers as they grow into young adults.”
The new Kenosha YMCA Teen Achievers program is designed to help young people prepare for success through higher education or career employment. The curriculum is based on Five Pillars of Success: Academics, College & Career, Positive Relationships, Life Skills, and Positive Identity. Through college campus tours, guest speakers, field trips to various local businesses, and in-depth discussions about success after high school, students will leave the program with a broadened understanding of the possibilities of their future.
